This option allows you to decide whether or not your URLs are optimised for search engines.
Add .html Suffix
If enabled, the system will add a .html suffix to your site’s URLs.
Generate Default Open Graph Meta Tags
When enabled, this option lets you customise how your site pages appear when shared on social networks, improving your content’s visibility.
Lang Attribute for <html> Tag
This feature allows you to set the language of your site’s pages, which search engines can correctly interpret. The language attribute affects all pages on your site.
Sitemap
A sitemap is a file that lists your site’s pages, helping search engines understand the structure of your site content. You can generate a sitemap to aid in improving the discoverability of your site.
Robots.txt
The Robots.txt feature enables you to generate a robots.txt file in the root directory of your site. This file gives instructions to search engine robots on how to crawl and index your pages. You can enable/disable the following features:
- Recommended robots.txt: Generates a robots.txt file compatible with Go Edit and its settings.
- Instruct Web Crawlers Not to Access and Index Your Website: Prevents search engines from indexing your site, useful for staging or development versions.
- Select Sitemap: Choose the sitemap you want to use:
- Not Selected: If you don’t have a sitemap yet.
- System Sitemap: This sitemap is generated via the Sitemap feature.
- Custom Sitemap: If you have a sitemap located elsewhere, enter its URL in the provided field.
- Custom Code in robots.txt File: Allows advanced users to input custom code into the robots.txt file for more control over site crawling and indexing.
