The General menu allows you to customise your website’s name, address, and set the default language. It also includes SEO options like enabling permalinks and adding an .html suffix to URLs.
This section is divided into two main blocks: Website Settings and Security.
Website Settings
In this block, you can manage essential settings such as:
- Website Name: Set your website’s name and address, and adjust the format of your page titles.
- Back to Top Button: Enable or disable a button to quickly navigate to the top of the page. You can choose from three options:
- Disable
- Enable with default design
- Enable with custom design (you can style this button under the Design > Widgets > Back to Top section).
- Favicon: Upload or change your site’s favicon, the small icon displayed in the browser tab and bookmark lists.
- Password-Protected Pages: Activate password protection for your pages and set a general password for those with restricted access.
- Default Language: Modify the default language of your site’s authorisation forms, including password reminders, email functions, and more.
Page Title Format
This option allows you to customise how your page titles appear in browser tabs, helping you maintain consistent branding or SEO optimisation.
Website Address
Here you can edit your site’s URL. If you’re still using a temporary preview link, you can purchase a domain for a more user-friendly and memorable web address. Our recommended hosting partner is HostPapa, where you can secure both hosting and domain services. Alternatively, you can purchase hosting through Go Edit or any provider of your choice. For the best all-in-one solution, consider our yearly plan, which includes both hosting and domain registration.
Main Page
This feature allows you to set your website’s Home page, whether it’s a regular page, a blog, or an online shop.
Website Favicon
This is your website’s small icon, typically displayed in the browser’s tab or next to your site’s name in bookmarks. You can easily upload a favicon to represent your brand.
Default Language
Adjust the default language of your site’s control panel, affecting authorisation forms, password management, and email functionalities.
Authorisation Persistence Time (seconds)
Set the amount of time a password is remembered for password-protected pages. If set to 0, access remains until the browser is closed.
Activate Password-Protected Pages
With this option, you can protect specific pages with a general password. Modify the visibility settings under the Pages tab to control which pages are restricted.
