In Go Edit, each page is divided into three key sections: Header, Content, and Footer. Understanding how to manage and customise these sections allows you to create unique designs and layouts for your website.
Header Section
The Header section is the topmost part of your page and appears across all pages that use the same header layout. You can customise this area by adding content, such as your logo, navigation menus, or contact information.
If you need a different header for specific pages, follow these steps:
- Open the Section Properties window.
- Click Add to create a new header layout.
- In the Add New Section window, specify the name of your new header section.
- Once created, choose the new header layout from the drop-down menu in the Section Properties window.
This enables you to apply a unique header for individual pages or groups of pages, offering flexibility in design. You can add specific content to each header layout, allowing for diverse branding or navigation for different parts of your site.
Content Section
The Content section is the main body of your page, where most of the unique content for that specific page is located. This section is where you’ll add:
- Widgets (such as text, images, and forms)
- Features (such as sliders, galleries, or videos)
Everything you add here is page-specific, meaning it won’t appear on other pages unless duplicated manually.
Footer Section
The Footer section is the bottom part of your page and, like the header, can appear across multiple pages with the same footer layout. Common elements in the footer might include copyright information, links to privacy policies, social media links, or additional navigation.
To customise footers for different pages:
- Open the Section Properties window.
- Click Add to create a new footer layout.
- In the Add New Section window, name your new footer section.
- Select the new footer from the drop-down list in the Section Properties window.
Once applied, this allows each page to have a different footer layout, enabling you to tailor the design and content for various sections of your site.
Sticky Footer Feature
The Sticky Footer option ensures that the footer remains pinned to the bottom of the page, regardless of the amount of content on the page. This is particularly useful for pages with limited content, where a floating footer can improve the overall visual experience.
Section Management in Summary
- Custom Layouts: Both headers and footers can have custom layouts, offering flexibility for specific pages.
- Add Unique Content: Custom headers and footers allow you to tailor content, such as branding or page-specific information.
- Sticky Feature: Footers can be pinned to stay at the bottom of the screen for an enhanced user experience.
