Common features are available for most widgets within the Control Panel. These features include Spacing, Alignment, Visible On, Link To, Background, Anchor, Animation, and Preset Name.
1. Spacing
The Spacing feature allows you to create space around content by adjusting the internal indent between the widget and its borders (left, right, top, bottom).
You can adjust spacing using four dropdown lists, with the following size options: Auto, 0, Small, Medium, and Large. By default, Auto is selected.
To change the spacing, click the current size option and select the desired option from the list.
2. Alignment
The Alignment feature repositions your widget to the left, middle, or right side of the page. You can also adjust the alignment separately for each device by combining this feature with the Devices setting.
3. Visible On
The Visible On feature lets you control whether a widget is shown or hidden on specific devices (e.g., hide it on desktop and show it on mobile). A yellow line indicates the active device, while a greyed-out icon shows that the widget is disabled on that device.
4. Link To
The Link To feature enables a click action for your widget, with several options available:
- None: Disables the action.
- Go Home: Redirects to the site’s home page (you can also set the store as the home page via the Store settings).
- Go to Page: Opens a specific page from your site.
- Open Popup: Opens a popup window.
- Go to Blog: Redirects to the main Blog page.
- Go to Post: Opens a specific blog post.
- Go to Store: Redirects to the store page (if the Store plugin is available).
- Go to Category: Opens a specific category page in the store.
- Go to Product: Opens a specific product page in the store.
- Open URL: Opens an external URL (enter the desired URL in the field provided).
- Mail To: Opens an email form for a specified email address.
- Call To: Initiates a phone call to a specified number.
- Open in Lightbox: Opens an image in full size from the Media Library.
- Open File: Opens a file from the Media Library (you can enable the Force Download feature to trigger a download instead of displaying the file).
Force Download: If enabled, files will automatically download when clicked. Please note that Internet Explorer does not support this function.
5. Background
The Background feature allows you to edit the widget’s background, including the colour, alternative sticky colour, and background image.
- Colour: Select a background colour for your widget. There are 25 preset colours and 5 additional customisable colours. To select a colour outside the preset palette, click More Colours.
- Image: Add or remove a background image. To add an image, click the + button to access the Media Library, select the image, and click Apply.
Once an image is added, you can use the following features:
- Image Size: Choose from Original, Cover, or Contain.
- Position: Adjust the image’s position using the provided arrows.
- Image Tile: Set whether the image repeats across the widget.
- Fixed: Fix the background image so it remains stationary as the content scrolls.
- Parallax: Enable a parallax scrolling effect for the background (disables the Fixed feature).
6. Anchor
The Anchor feature allows you to set an anchor point anywhere on the page. When users click a link with the anchor feature enabled, they will be redirected to that specific section of the page.
7. Animation
The Animation block enables you to add custom animation effects to the widget when it first appears. These effects can be previewed both in Preview mode on the live site and in the Control Panel.
8. Preset Name
The Preset Name feature allows you to select and edit the visual appearance of the widget using preset designs available in the Design section. Each theme comes with its own unique presets, and the number of presets varies by widget.
9. Adjust to Fit the Screen Height
This feature allows you to set the widget’s height to match the screen height during preview. You can also configure the vertical alignment of the widget’s content.
